I've just got a 1999 Land Rover Discovery, when driving normaly it's perfectly fine but when pressing on or pulling away with the throttle pedal on the floor the wheels smoke - ALOT!!. And the steering pulls from left to right is there away it can be made more controlable.

Are they newly fitted rubber?

Is it possible they're slipping in the rims? (get your marker pens out)

Hi welcome to the forum :)

Doesn't sound right :D Could be brakes binding, ie siezed pistons, or maybe knackered wheel bearings, or a bit of both.

The tyres look like they have been on there a while. The smoke has a horrid rubber smell to it.

Look for whitness mark from the rubbing or chaffing.

By any chance did the tyre fitters put grease on the beads when fitting the rubber to the rim?
