The touchpad on my Dell laptop has gone potty. It's very hard to control the pointer, it keeps flitting about all over the place and difficult to 'aim' and hit the right spot when clicking. It's very similar to if you get a hair or something caught under a laser mouse, and it makes it all jumpy.
ANy ideas?

I've found with mine if you have damp hands it goes a bit nuts also bits of clothing or whatever on the track pad can confuse it.

On mine there is a little icon bottom right, brings up mouse properties, where you can enable / disable touchpad and buttons, and also a check box to automatically disable touchpad when a mouse is plugged in.
I like not having a mouse though, would be a bit fiddly to use on sofa, in bed, etc etc ... :D
