Hi everyone, I have recently moved to Elgin in Morayshire. I have a freelander ( I know dont laugh) and have been looking for places to go greenlaning or less extreme off roading. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Doug

Hi Doug ,
hope yer doing fine up in Elgin . Half the rig i work on seem to come from there ;).
I know nothing at all about offroading up there - but i found a couple of links that you could maybe pursue www.highland4wheeldriveclub.moonfruit.com (http://www.highland4wheeldriveclub.moonfruit.com)

and also bordc.net who are more aberdeen based but you never know .

Hope that helps ,
gordon .

Hi, I'm in Forres and am still trying to answer this question. I did see a weekend or two ago a "gathering" of some pretty serious off road hardware on the way down from Nairn towards Grantown on Spey. On second thoughts I should have stopped to ask them but I was on a mission.

I'll have a look around and see if I can find out what club it was. Otherwise I'll keeping looking.

You could try this http://www.paintballguide.co.uk/off-road-driving-4x4/sites/Off-Road-4x4-Prices.asp?id=3729 (a bit pricey though).

I've just been finding some narrow winding tracks across the hills which is OK but not if you want to get really serious. If you head out of Elgin towards Dallas and hang a left there the drive through the forrest and up the hill is fantastic.

Cheers

PS I checked out the link and it was defintitely the Highland 4WD Club. I might drop them a mail and see what happens.
