I fill up at around 300 miles, warning light has never come on so could go further but don't know how far. MPG is usually around 28 to 30. had 33 on a long run and 26 with lots of local and stop start,
hope that helps

sorry.. when I say to a tankful, I normally judge it off the number of litres I put in... normally full up with 40 litres... don't know the size of the tank... but it very rarely goes into the reserve (don't even know if the reserve light works! - i've never seen it!)

I'm lucky to get 200 from a brimmed tank.........But the V6 is very thirsty.Should it be more? I don't usually do more than 40-50mph unless I really Have to.

My understanding was that 55mph was the optimum speed. I certainly doa lot better on motorway driving, and tend to watch the needle dive during short local runs.

Hi, just an update, i had a head gasket done, but when we had it running for a couple of weeks we were getting only about 250 miles from a full tank, and after herring from you guy's, we took it back to the garage and they found that there was a low pressure reading on the inlet manifold, they reset the the management system, now there seams to be more power, so hopefully the mileage per gallon will increase. S thanks for your replies.

Hi, just thought i would tell you that the feul consumtion on the freelander is still terrible about 250 to the tank. And i am at a loss to why, help.

just a thought but how are you driving? If you are thrashing the revs at every gear change then that will seriously affect your consumption. I drive the freebie quite sedately, accelerating quite slowly usually keep the revs low changing gear at about 3000rpm. work up to cruising at about 65mph.
Yes it will go quicker changine up at 4000, and pushing the loud pedal further down but it's never going to be quick so what's the point. anyway I started with a series 2 landie and anything is quick compared to that.
If I want to go faster I'll take the day car! (which ironically is more economical too!!)
