Hello All,
I've recently become a Land-Rover owner having wanted one since childhood.
My pride and joy is a Royal Blue / Limestone ex-Royal Navy 1975 SIII 2.25 petrol Hard top.
The previous owner (of 9 years) carried out a chassis replacement and painted the bodywork in it's original colours, as well as fitting some snazzy recaro seats. Although fitted with a soft-top from the factory it now sports a hard-top which I'm leaving on for the winter. A set of poles, tailgate and galvanized fittings for a canvas top were included along with a load of extra bits which will no doubt come in useful. I reckon I got a bargain.
Among all the receipts and bits of paper are 3 ageing job cards from the factory with the original Navy order number and vehicle spec!
My dabblings so far have been limited to replacing a rear diff (which exploded) and changing the oil in the transmissions/diffs.
Next on my list is to investigate the non-functioning reverse light, then tackle the damp and poor demisting capability of the heater. The list goes on, I'm intending to restore it back to how it left the factory but that will take place as a rolling project. Woo hoo! :yay:
