Print Screen help please

How do I print the screen?
My Printscreen key does nothing, even with CTRL ALT or Shift.

Also how do I 'print screen to file' so I can put it in a document, for writing instructione how to do something and showing the screen you will see.

Thanks in advance, this has bugged me for years, I couldn't even find it in HELP.

have been playing with this, and discovered (I use Wordperfect, may not be the same in Word):

Right click on the image of the screen
click on 'edit image'
click on file
click on save

and can save as a jpg, bitmap or lots of others.

I also use a small software program Screen Rip 3.2 version 1.0 Beta which can be downloaded here which may also be of help. http://www.progency.com/other.html This allows you to capture any portion of the screen and save in various formats and it is free.
