unleaded & diesel mix

My Wife put 26 lt of unleaded fuel in our diesel freelander, she drove about 25 miles parked up outside the house, 2 hours later it would'nt start. i have emptyed the tank and filled it up with the correct fuel and it started after about the 15th time, should i replace the fuel filter or do you think it would be ok i was told that the filter might start to breakdown.

Replace fuel filter, plus add some fuel additive, as the petrol will have removed all the lubricant from the pump, but be prepared to replace the fuel pump soon, and possibly some other bits!

done the same thing my self just after buying my td4 luckfully i had only done just over a mile when i reliese'd what i had done so i got recoverd home ,as llanigraham says replace f/filter and keep the tank full as for the additive try to find one with lubricant in it millers dieselsport or wynns fuel additive from halfords etc
