got a 2001 TD5, only 40.000.
Dealer serviced etc.
noticed recently that there is a notchy feeling when reversing, not clunking or anything like that.
Difficult to tell if from box or wheels/joints.
No problems forward.
Any ideas?

A seized handbrake gives that feeling also. For some reason its noticable in reverse first, then you'll feel it in the lower forward gears as it gets worse. Get a bit of space to back up then knock it out of gear. If it still feels notchy when freewheeling backwards, its not the gearbox.

Is that clutch fully our or slipping it a bit?
