Some people remove the axle oil seal so that axle oil lubricates the bearing instead of seperate grease. Axle oil washing the bearing doesn't matter and if the oil is getting out to the back of the disc then it'll be the wheel bearing oil seal that's leaking or the land that the lip of the seal runs on. Caliper off and then disc/hub assembly off to replace it, then lever the old seal out and carefully drift a new one in (they are only a couple of quid). Check that the axle breather isn't blocked - if it is, then oil will be pushed out past the lip of the seal as the axle warms up.

My 04 disco td5 rear offside hub started leaking all over brake disc, managed to just catch it before warantee ran out, understand that landrover dont change the seal any more but change the whole hub?? whereas on earlier disco 200 and 300 the seal could be changed.
