3.9 V8 not charging

Can eny one help? My disco isn't charging,I had to be recoverd from the side of the road tonight after it died on me. the battery light dosn't come on when the engine is turned on or when running. The recovery man ran some tests and said it's probably a relay? Eny help in tracking down the problem/relay would be much appreciated

I assume it died because it had a flat battery?

Check all the connections on the back of the alternator are tight and secure.

Get the battery checked if its okay, check the charging rate with a multimeter, measure across the battery terminals with the engine running, if it less than 13.5 to 14.4 volts i reckon alt is duff
