Hi everyone,

just new here, but landrover addict for a while, I own a '00 110 Td5 and a '82 petrol 109 SW.

I'm an active member of the French Land Rover Owners Club, and we use to come twice a year to the Old Sod.

But apart from that, I don't know much about your way of living "Land" ;

I'll read a while - this can help me improve my English :p -, please be indulgent, and I'll be back soon to bore you with my questions and silly ideas (about evry en any thing ;) )

Hi Steve !

Nice to cross someone from Belper !!
One of my friend worked in a restaurant few years ago ( she lived and worked also for...guess....LR business) and I spent many times in your area.

Well, as you will see, there will be more french speaking people on your Forum as I told the website address on Landmania.com, which is THE French Website on Land Rover Stuff.

I think it's very exciting to see what is done all around the World about the LR scene and I hope you'll visit this website too.

Qu'en penses tu Nico?

Yep!

I think the Froggies will post in English in this Forum, don't worry about that!

I am very happy to see how much of them registered here the last 2 days....I used to read this Forum before as I always keep an eye on the UK LR Scene since more than 15 years and, to be honnest, as I enjoy really to come in England !!
So...it's easier to keep in touch ....

Hi Nico
Can you help me locate some Michelin tyres that are hard to find in the UK?
What I am after is the 255/100-R16 XZL, which is equivalent to the 9.00 R16.
We are in France quite often but our next trip is brief as we will be on our way to Spain.
The 101 and I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
James

Horace,

I think than these tyres are less expensive in the Nederlands than here in France.
On the 101 Forum ( distribution list), a lot of posts have been made on this subject.

I dream also on these tyres for my ambi, but they are sooooooo expensive ....

Hi FredV
If you mean http://groups.yahoo.com/group/101
Then there is no conclusion as to where they can be obtained.
Internet searches including Holland do not come up with any usefull links.
Have you seen these in France?

Nico,

(plaisanterie anglaise !)

Bonjour et bienvenue Nico,

Glad to see you have a Series LR - I have a 1973 109 Station Wagon I use daily. Have seen a few French LR's at Sodbury, as well as a couple from Luxembourg and Belgium. I live about 10m (16km) from Dunsfold - handy for parts! Am about 1 1/4 hrs from the Sodbury Sortout.

Are there many Series LR's in France?

Don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions - someone will know the answer.

Hi back !

I don't know if quotation is in your uses and habits, so tell me if not (I personally like it as helping understanding a thread).

Whatsoever, I made a -few :yellowgri - searches, and :

- I was unable to find these gums sold on the net anywhere else than in USSR (sorry, Russia)
- I realised they're very high (some 36, 5", which is closer to a 10.0 than to a 9.00) and heavy...

IMHO, it would be easy to find them by a trucks or agricultural tire seller, thou I know none...

LbnL, they're priced almost twice as the 255/85 ones....

But they look like being definitely the best in that range of size, ever far above the former 9.00 XZL

Hello Nico
Yes the only place I could find anything was the former USSR but I don't know how up to date their websites are, plus the problem of shipping.
It's so anoying that they are on the Michelin website but Michelin UK seem to know nothing about them.
I find this all the time with big organisations, you know they make it but they will not sell it to you!
