hi folks

just spent today fitting a 300 tdi for a mate into his disco, anyway the engine went in a breeze and fired up first time after bleeding the air out.
Anyway it goes into gear when the engine isnt running and it trys to start in gear.
so is the clutch plate stuck the engine had been standing in his garden for about 5 weeks so I think it might have rusted to the flywheel

so whats the best way to free it off or are we going to have to take the engine out again and remove the clutch and clean it up?

iff you think its stuck, drive down the road with your foot on the clutch and keep playing the throttle. another way is in gear foot on clutch and try to start , little harsh this way though . i'd try the first idea . alan....
