I have just bought this ipod thingy for my wife and have been given the job of putting music onto it!! Could someone please help.

I have downloaded the latest i tunes program and this works, I have put on a file my niece gave us and this works fine, giving the track names and video etc.

Where I have a problem is in copying a cd. I have copied a few to my computer using CD burner xp and it copies all the tracks as session 1 track one, session 1 track 2 etc. I copied four albums onto the ipod and it lumped four track ones together, four track 2s etc and no track names.

How do I copy a cd along with the track name and have each album seperate?

Any advise greatfully received.

Thanks

Andrew

I have no experience of the software you are using but many cd ripping software have a feature that gets the cd info from an online database. I know that itunes has this feature, have you tried ripping the cd with that?

Hi Andrew
It all depends if the album info is attatched to the file on the CD. If the info is there and you are online then itunes should automaticlly get the details for you.
If the album info isn't on the CD then I'm afraid you're going to have to type in the track details manualy.

Hope this helps
Ade

Now here is something I can answer on this forum. Rather than ask strange questions about my landrover.

I'm an IT guy and have been doing this job for too long so sorry if these instructions seem like I am treating you like a pleb it's just the way i deal with answering IT questions.

1. Put an audio CD in your pc cd drive.
2. Start Itunes, it may start automatically when you put the CD in.
3. On the left hand bar you should see devices. Select your Audio CD drive.
4. Down the bottom there is a button that says import CD. click it and it should start "ripping" the CD to your harddrive.
You can set itunes to do this automatically as soon as a CD is put into the PC, i can't remember if this is the default or not though.

Now all you have to do is Sync to an Ipod, in the newer versions of itunes it just tries to put all of your music on it.

have Fun

Put the CD in the PC and Itunes should copy it straight away, if not it will ask if you want to copy it.
As long as you're online at the time it will try and get the track info and album artwork.
