Right got picked up at 9.00 this morning (while scottie was still fast asleep) and went for a macdonalds brekkie! Then off to owens, As per usal owen and i are bitching (still scottie asleep) and we open up the lockups... now in one lock up (lock up 1) there is a chassis, axles, rear tub and a shed loads of other toot and bits (even found a box containing Owens old swiming badges... felt were light so i doubt he got past 25m!) so we move the smaller bits first... Into lock up 2.. which is a double one.. one side has gun and 240volt genertor, Drill rounds for owens gun, and other heavy objects....and the other is relatibly clear...
so the small bits go from lock up 1 into lock up2.... Now we move the rear axle. ( one wheel is sezied but sod it brute force and ignorance goes a long way) set up engine crane can we lift the fron axle onto the legs ans use it as trolley yes but it keeps moveing right lets strop it up and leave it swinging.. get to lock up 2 and i take of a steering rod for my series three... and showed owen how to take it off with out using a ball joint spliter! but as per usal he acted as though he knew or wasnt intresseted!
next bit Chassis.. right how the f*ck are we going to do this it a fair way... We get engine crane one end.. nope that dont work. in the middle no that dont work!! ah damn we had a slight mishap but no real problem again lots of muscle strengh and language...
but we get it into the lock up 2 and then struggle to get it it but i remmeber there was a trolley thing with wheels on right lets stick that underneath.. so easy just slides in... why didnt we think of it before we struggled... but before the the outriggers kept getting cuaght which mate hard work!
the lock up is clear. this is now 12pm we go upstairs to owens flat for a tea and coffee and to load owens new website on the net.. and to find scottie just getting up (after saying last nite at 3am i got to go to bed got to be up at 6.am to clear the fishing stuff and sort out electics)
anyway
owen has a big heavy workbench which we use the trolley to hold one end.. now i was told to make sure and check the trolly didnt slide out from underneat we got 3/4 of the way wen bang.. the legs buckled.. smack on owens foot....Ouch and one ****ed off owen as i can understand.... anyway he carries on with no real complaint.. and that tis in the garage...
Next. rear tub... slide acoros take a latch off...and put in garage not real problems....
Then as we clear up the remander if the stuff in lock up 1 a bloke drives up and says "do you know who the clars belong too who have flat tyres.. we say yer one is ours. he say want me to take it awya for free. so 2moro it goes.. we try to start it but smell petrol as we try to start the petrol pours out.. so we stop... and push to lock up 2 with 1 flat tyre.. strip front seats... i strip the hydralic arms to put on my tailgate instead of the chains... strip radio.. i strip seatbelts or rear of swb...
then push back
finaly we had loads of scrap metal we went to drop te keys off at the garage owners but on the way tried the tip closeed... rather bad thing to a good day!!!!
Then off to kfc for a meal... lots of food feel fat.
but both feel like crippled old men so were of to our respective bathrooms to read a mag.. have warm bath and relax after our long hard day!
