Just for a change, I thought I'd post something that wasn't a problem!

235/85R16's do fit the 300Tdi and do not foul; something that wasn't clear before.

I haven't, yet, had the thing completely cross axled, but I will! I'll let you know if they touch then.

In the meantime, advantages include 10% higher gearing, vital to my undergeared auto.

I'm getting much better economy (3 mpg better on a run), less engine noise, a softer ride, better clearance - and it looks great.

Disadvantages are theoretically less acceleration, higher gearing for the already not-low-enough low 1st, and the speedo and odometer reads 10% slow.

What rims are you using? Any photos to share, please?

Lets see some dune bashing pics at Erg Chebbi then! Lucky bloke how come you're in Maroc?

It's on standard rims; no change in width, so no problems there.

I'm at Erg Chebbi pretty regularly! I'll see if I can find a photo - but you only tend to take photos when you're stuck...

No photos on the new tyres (yet)

Photos for you of some of my motoring adventures; the dune stuff starts on the second page.

Too bad none of my track day XJS, or the TVR, or or!

Well, I thought I'd better tell you lot that the 235/85's don't foul, even when twisting the axles. Which is nice!

Im new to this landrover world but would like to fit big tyres to mine so whats a camel cut? ( i assume that the camel is reference to the camel trophy event)
Im not interested in fitting extended arches, but dont mind removing a little body work.

Mine are on standard Disco alloys and don't foul, so perhaps the offset is different on the modulars?

yes the modulars do have a different offset it gives it a wider wheel base
