I think(but not sure) that it is a helpfile to enable you to reflash your ECU with an update. For Example , if you were to buy an online update from Td5alive, you would download it onto your Nanocam and install it from here. But don't quote me!;)

Darren you need to find out if its flashable type of ecu first as i believe 02 was the change over year.

hi everyone this is what nanocom sent me back if you can understand what they are saying let us know thanks :(
Hi,
The nanocom map wizard is a simple application that generate on your PC all the available original map file for defender and discovery.
Onche you generate a dile you can store it to nanocom and flash on your ECU.
This is usefull for who have to replace the ECU with a used one to put the right map file related to the ECU part number.

Ive changed a few words. Does this make more sense?
The nanocom map wizard is a simple application that generates on your PC all the available original map files for defender and discovery.
Once you generate a file you can store it to nanocom and flash on your ECU.
This is useful for those who have to replace the ECU with a used one and to put in the correct map file related to the ECU part number.

Don't know, Haven't got that far in reading the instructions yet. There is an instruction book pdf. for download on the website, if you can't wait for someone else to reply to this thread. But I think that you will download it to your PC , then transfer it somehow to the Nanocom for putting into the ECU, but, as I said, I haven't got that far:rolleyes:. Sorry!:o Grant

As has been said, the map wizard allows you to upload standard fuel maps to the ECU. They supply a range of standard maps for most TD5 vehicle types. So if you needed to re-program a replacement ECU or you messed yours up then you can do it with this program.
The Nanocom has a built in memory so you can store your current ECU settings on it or back-up to your PC.
Interestingly I have emailed TD5 Alive 3 times about the tunning map service for Nanocom's that they offer and not a reply!!

i emailed them and got a reply next day this is the email they sent me
If you can send me your .map file, your .se1 file, and your Nanocom ID number, I can produce a tuned file for your car. I will email this to you, and you flash it to your car with your Nanocom. You then test drive your car, and report back to me after several miles of testing, with details of any faults, flat spots, or smoking. I will then send you a revised tuned file, which should be better. We do this until we get the optimum for your car.
The cost of this service is £295+vat, which is over £100 cheaper than if you brought your car to me. The reason being, that you are responsible for the testing.

Hi Jim,
I take comments like this very seriously. I reply to all emails, often within a few hours. I pride myself on my level of customer service, so if someone is not happy, I want to be able to rectify the situation quickly. I am solely responsible for everything Td5 Alive, so I do get rather busy, but I always ensure all emails are answered before i switch off the pc.
The only way i can think I've missed your emails, is if it's been picked out by my spam filter? I do skip through my spam before I delete it, and occasionally fish out one ore two legit emails. I think perhaps this has happened, and for what ever reason, I've not noticed it. I do get about 200 - 300 spam emails every day, as well as about 30 or 40 genuine emails. I try to answer all emails promptly, as well as get on with my jobs, so I don't get too much time to carefully sift through all junk mail.
Please telephone me regarding your tuning requirements, and I will happily talk you through the process.
Also, come and see me at any of this years big land rover shows! Details of all show's i'll be at are on my website home page.
Best Regards,
Gary.

Thanks for the reply Gary, I sent emails on the 12/01, 17/01 and 21/01 strange that they didn't get through to you. I will send you another now, see if you can see where it has gone.
I am not sure if I will have mine done now or not, I was quite disappointed with it when I got it but have grown to like it or just got used to it now and it does not feel too bad.

Further to the above...
I've just recieved an email off James, and replied immediately.
I also checked my archives, and the two previous emails were answered quickly, within a couple of hours. I have forwarded these onto James (again), so hopefully they will reach their destination. :)
Otherwise, either i have an SMTP issue, or James's spam filter is dumping my emails! :D
James, if you have not recieved my emails, give me a ring please.
