Just traded my 2000MY td5 for something a bit more reliable and got less than £5k. And this is what glasses says it's worth:(

At least I don't have to replace the air compressor again:)

Sad to depart from LR after 9 years ownership, but think of the money.

Geez! They want in the region of 5k for M and N plate auction-special Discos and nearly 10k (!!!!!) for early D2s?
Is there something in the water around Huddersfield?

Looking on autotrader at early Disco 2's, I'm amazed that V8's and TD5's seem to be the same money; starting at around 4,000.

Why? Surely the V8 should be cheaper? Not that I'm after a bargain or anything...

Prices for all D2s are in free fall right now.
Their day has come and gone and now they're like a Saturn V rocket after you've landed on the moon.
They're too complex for home-spannering 300 owners, too "last-year" for aspiring D3 buyers.

Great! Hopefully I'll be able to afford one soon...

I used to run much more complicated, much older cars. Sometimes you just have to work out a way to circumvent all the electronics. Though I admit that a sole P38 pretty much defeated me - that central control of electronic everything is scary.

I noticed this company in the back of my landie mag and was a bit shocked at the price for an N plate 300TDI disco, ok its got 50k on the clock but is it worth the extra money, they say they dont rust due to not using salt on the roads in japan (Ive never heard of a disco not rusting!!)

Somewhat complex yes. Fixable by a home mechanic? I think so! A lot of jobs can be done by the home mechanic on a D2, with perhaps only a handful of jobs being outside what the home mechanic can do without some specialist diagnostic equipment.

I'm registrering my D2 in Portugal atm, they go for 15k to 21k euros depending on age and miles :) not that I plan on selling it, even after the problems I still love the old girl :)
