You haven't specified what model, which engine, what age - so it's a bit difficult to comment on price.

The boot floor will need replacing, if you can do it yourself then it will cost around £150 depending on condition underneath, if you can't diy then budget on £600 !!

If the car is a Disco TDI 300, then it sounds like a lot of money !!

I just bought a '98 Disco TDi 300, 75,000mls, Full dealer history, 2 owners, for £2200 and it's boot floor is (nearly?!) perfect.

Seems expensive to me ... my 95 V8 ES with 80000 miles, full MOT & tax, no rust and all the toys for £1600 last Nov. Mine isn't perfect, but is pretty good.

Hi Dave, it's Dave. I'm just a little suspicious about this one. There is a large chunk of service history missing, and the digits on the mileometer don't line up.

The rear passenger door 'c' posts look about as you would expect, but when you get the chance, check in the engine bay for the inner wings, they often rot out. Also the sills, you will need to get underneath and have a good prod around - this can be an expensive problem to fix. Finally the rear wings around the seatbelt fixings often get rusty.

When was the cambelt done, I don't mean mileage I mean date. The reason why I ask this is that if it was done more than 3 yrs ago, then it may need doing again now, on account of age rather than mileage.

There are little alarm bells going off in my head which usually means that the car is not as genuine as it might seem.

My first reaction on seeing the pictures is that, even if he paid too much for this vehicle, you shouldn't !!

I would price it at about £1500 - the world is FULL of 2nd hand Disco's at the moment as people fall out of love with them, take your time and look at loads.

I would summarise by saying that there are better more genuine cars out there than this.

I'm sorry if this seems rather downbeat, but Discos are great cars - so long as you don't buy a dog !!!

Cheers All

I think I'll give this one a miss - too many question marks, really do not want to have to start out by sort a new floor, and it's a 300 mile round trip to go and see it - there'll be closer Disco's to me that this one
