I was lucky in I had a ramp with freewheel bars and I dropped the gearbox in two hrs only having help with the final stage. I had to weld the clutch fork. If you don't get the info you want email me and I will give you some tips. I have just changed a 300 auto and it took all day to get it out.

Well. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a new gearbox. I have got everything stripped off and would like a bit of advice. Clutch plate ok, but not sure about cover. How much scoring should classed as ok on the fingers.
Want to order new r/crank oilseal, Xfer box input oil seal(?) and clutch release bearing from the same supplier, does anyone know the part No of the Xfer box oil seal?
Also, I read somewhere about using silicon sealer when refitting the Xfer box, was it just where the G/box and Xfer box mate or somewhere else?
ANY other advice will be most welcome.
Thanks in advance

Sealant between the gearbox and transfer case is a good idea. If you play in the mud, then a bead of it around the lip of the bellhousing as well will help.
