hi does the dash have to come out to replace the heater matrix

Yes if you want to do it properly by the book, no if you use a bit of cunning and are double jointed:D

A friend done mine for me without removing the dash. I wasn't there so i don't know the exact method , he removed the centre consul and the panel hiding the fuses and if I can remember there is a bar behind this that can be unbolted.The matrix is then withdrawn into the drivers footwell.It only took him 20 minutes to remove the old one but fitting the new one took a while as the clips holding the pipe on can be troublesome in the tight space.

Thats the trouble i had with the clips they are a right sod but still better than taking dash out:)

hi guy's new here just read this topic and tried to do it the so called short cut on a 300 not recomended still ended up taking dash out f**ked end of pipes up trying to force them back into holes in matrix and now not sealing properly so going to seal it with silcone before putting it all back together will let you know how i get on good job i still kept my 200 to run about in
