300tdi P reg Engine starts idles OK pulls OK but when you reach cruising speed engine will die to below idle speed. If going gently up a gradient it will do this and being a auto will start to roll back. If you ease the accelerator back the revs come up again or increase the accelerator the revs come up again. 2 diagnostic tests said it was the petentiometer. tried one didn't cure the problem. tried a airflow meter that didn't work. replaced the injection pump that hasn't cured it. Someone said the egr valve that as already been disconnected. Help I am desperate as I can't use the vehicle like it is.

I think mr Rat is on the button 1st lift boot mat then check the pipes for corrosion ( they rot out and suck in air) then follow lines forward to the sedimentor and remove and clean that, single bolt on top do not try to remove drain bung as they snap, then fit a new lift pump cheap about £15, if the lift pump has some screws on the round bit you can strip it and clean all the muck out, even clean it may still be duff.
