Has anyone tried cooking on their engine? Thinking of roasting a pheasant in a bag on the manifold of my 200tdi but unsure about cooking mileage :)
wrap it tightly in foil then newspaper then more foil so that it doesnt catch fire two hours at forty mph should do it nicely . happy trails
dont forget to season it before wrapping

I am definitely going to try this - it's a pity I don't drive longer distances - my normal commute is only 25 miles...

In Kosovo, I used to lockwire tins of scoff to the exhaust of my wolf all the time. Just remember to puncture the lid before you away on a 45 minute drive to the northern border or you might think you have driven into a contact, skid to a halt and start diving into ditches whilst cocking your rifle before noticing the baked beans and hot dogs dripping onto the track under your lanny!:o:o:o

There's a book out somewhere called Manifold destiny, with loads of tips and recipes Amazon would probaby be the best place to start.

I haven't cooked on the engine but if you ned an emergency BBQ and the meat is still frozen it makes an excellent defroster;)

I was just about to post on this subject and found this at the top of the list.I was out on a pay and play a couple of weeks ago and cooked a couple of pasties on the inlet manifold. 2 to 3 hrs and they were nice and hot just like they had come from the bakers.

Remember Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall cooking a trout on the manifold of his "gastro-waggon" in his cook on the wild side series.
