Can't see the point myself, but fair play. :)

I'm looking at getting a new vehicle, but am thinking of a Jap import. Maybe a Supra, Celica GT4 or something.

Tell me what's the difference between FreeLancers, Range Rovers, Land Rovers etc. I'd have thought a jeep is a jeep.

The Shogun / Pajero must be one of the worst 4x4s to ever have come out of the land of the rising sun.
The Celica hasn't been the same since they shifted drive from the rear wheels to the front. I used to have one of the last rear wheel drive Celica XTs brought into the UK, and loved the way I used to meet myself coming around roundabouts when the back hung out in the wet. Almost as much fun as my Manta Berlinetta.

Front wheel drive has its advantages in some cases. My day car is a fwd Eurobox, which gives me 45mpg at motorway cruising speeds (ie 70mph plus loose fit tolerance). Have also had fun off-roading on Zakynthos in a fwd Saxo (its where you place your wheels that counts in dry conditions) where fwd was ideal for scrabbling slowly on rocky tracks.

It was crap this 4 litre jeep. No power and guzzled the fuel too quick. Plus you had to fall out of it rather than get in or out. My uncle has a shogun or something like it and that was superb.

Gimme a decent 2 litre car though any day. :)
