Hi all God what a day
Our lass phoned this morning saying that she had lost steering oh Bo**ocks so I got away from work early and got a new alternator belt and tensioner £85.00
so off I went to her work and opened the bonnet what a mess it had also snapped the air con belt and it was all wrapped around the fan so after an hour of pulling with pliers and cutting the birds nest the old belt was all removed so I started to undo the nut to remove the tensioner and all was fine until the stud came out with the nut on the end (bo**ocks)
I then looked at the stud and the worst part was staring at me the bloody thing had stripped the threads from the Alloy plate. So it was off to work for a helicoil kit collected that and back to the stranded disco and started to then fit the helicoil and refit the stud with plenty of stud lock
the upshot is I am now not happy with the plate and stud set up and am on the look out for the plate
Its the one that the alternator mounts on and the tensioner the P gasket goes behind it so if anybody knows where theres 1 at let me know
