Lazy unlocking driver door? why ?

When I unlock the doors using my fob, The drivers door does not unlock the first time and i have to do it many times to get the drivers door to open. I wondered what was wrong and thought that it may be something that has just worn out, Has anyone come across this problem? It is so uncool. lol
Any ideas anyone? :confused:

Seems a lot of messing about, but i would hate to be locked out soon

It could be that the door lock spring has broken ( well documented problem ) but it occasionally gets into a position where by it does actually just about work after a few operations. Doubtful but possible.

Complete guess of course but I'd replace the spring, lube everything up and see what happens.;)

I had this, I thought the spring had gone when in fact a good squirt of WD40 down the little pop up'n down thingy in the door sorted it out.

If there is any movement and if it sometimes works then the spring is still ok, just try a squirt and see if this helps (work it in by using the key in the door - open / close / open / close / open...)
