My TD5, first reg 30/11/01, shows in the log book a CO emission of 0.133 g/km.
I cannot relate this figure to anything on DVLA site-or anywhere else.
Any ideas?

I'm going to be watching the response to this post with great interest as this has me foxed too. I've read the usual moaning posts about road tax and emissions on here and elsewhere too but I'm still to read a post that can say for certain.

Would certainly be interested to hear if anyone has a definiative answer to all the speculation and BS. Basically put, I'm surprised nobody has already posted an "Expect to pay this amount" thread as there are so many differing Landrover variants.

Think I've got answer to my 1st question. The 0.133 relates to CO.
Got this confused with CO2, which is 284. So I now have to pay £440. From when?

Hello all,
I checked this out on the DVLA website a few days ago, the Td5 discovery falls into class "F" for road fund tax meaning your next tax disk will cost you £210.00 for 12months.
The new class "G" of £400.00 dose not apply to any vehicle registered before 23/03/06.
And vehicles registered before 01/03/01 the tax is calculated on Engine size, below 1549cc is £120 for 12months, (Obviously no landys apply to this)
Anything over 1549 is £185 for 12months.
Hope this helps.

Until next year, when it backdates to 2001 as I understand it.

Oh good, I look forward to that.
Next thing you'll be telling me they'r scrapping the historic vehicle class that makes pre 72 motors tax exempt.
Bloody Labour government, anything for a bit more of our cash!!

A useful little tool for you, courtesy of DVLA:

http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/application;JSESSIONID_EvlPortalApp=HfX1pM4QCW7Kmy 673zyD2XVX0GgZdZyQKS8HNdWL8SYG9v52mTCJ!949633716!1 990485406?origin=vehicleEnquiryInfo_en.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.portlet.event&pageid=Vehicle+Enquiry&portletid=VehicleEnquiry&portletns=VehicleEnquiry_en&wfevent=link.next

If you type in your reg and the type of vehicle it will tell you what the CO2 emissions are for your car and when its due for renewal.

For those that missed the budget here are the regs that will come into force from 1 April 2009:

:(:(:(

My disco 2 tax will be sent for refund at the end of Feb next year and reapplied for early March so that I get it at the old rate. Will mean I have to do without it for a few days, but will save me 9/12 * £230 !!!!! :D

I bitched and moaned when my imported Disco2 TD5 was registered as Jan 2002 rather than the October 2002. They also didn't take the CO2 reading and so entered it as a Private Light Goods rather than banding it.

I am so glad that I just shut up. That makes a change.

So I take it that a pre 2001 Discovery will be £210.00 per year in 2009 and not the £400 plus that is being mooted on other forums.

Cheers, Simon.

I ( rather work, with my money) taxed my S plate Jeep 2.5 Cherokee sport yesterday, up from £99 for 6 months to £101.75.
