I recently bought a T Reg TD5 Disco with 140K miles and when the engine gets warm there is excessive white smoke when the vehicle is ticking over. This is far more visible when the weather is humid but I think it also happens when the weather is dryer. I am also losing cooling fluid but have not had any loss in power. As I am a diesel virgin and not too good with cars at the best of times any thoughts on this problem????????? Thanks Smokey and Concerned

Hi I'm a novice when it comes to cars but its sounds like a head gasket.
Do td5s have a cooling jacket on the the turbo? could be that?
Pop the top off the coolant (when the engine is cold) then start it and see if you get bubbles forming.
