View Full Version : What is it?
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to provide details of this interesting little beastie. I have already gleaned a few facts (and some red herrings) but need to know more.

Don't known whether you're serious about asking us for info, or whether this is intended to be a quiz :)
Looks like a Wolf, 130" wheelbase. Civvy plates? (blurred), so probably a prototype. Rapier carrier type front cab/bulkhead with long flat loadbed behind. Interesting rear side door (with soft upper half) - look as if it allows access to rear loadbed, but handle has been plated over, so internal release only. Also interesting use of bright 5bar plating - not std military issue! Look at that non-std filler too.
Haven't a clue :)

Thanks for reply Uel, but I am looking for hard info on this particular vehicle and not speculation. I do know a fair bit about it, but am sure that there is somebody out there who can fill in some of the more mysterious gaps. By not posting what I know to be factual at this stage, I hope to be able to filter out the red herrings.
Bob
fair enough :)
Let us know when you get the full story - its an interesting one.

So you have found result of the mod cross breeding program. The twisted result of a wolf and a rapier. Looks very interesting. Let us know what you know soon.
Picked up a little more info from pretty close to source today, and the lineage is even more interesting than above. There could well be as many as six of these beasts in service with an overseas military. Can anybody please shed any light?

Bob,
Have you tried Marshall's in Cambridge? Or is that your pretty close source? I thought of them as, (long pointless rambling story alert), went carting with work a while back at a cart track near RAF Wyton, on the way back we stopped for a swift half at a pub near by and there was a civilian registered pulse, (probably look a like) parked up there. It was M registered but looked similar except for the rear body. As the reg has been smudged, I can't tell, but was this one an M Reg too?
Thanks Dan, it did originate from Marshall's, but this one is running on an L plate and is now owned by another company. I'm particularly after firm confirmation of what its intended use was and who was the military client for the production batch.

Stop speculating guys - hard info only please. I'll fill in all the details in due course.
