TD4 Automatic. Gear change jerk!

Just bought an 02 TD4 automatic. I notice at low speeds moving through the gears (I think 2 to 3) the car shudders, as if about to stall. It is not as noticeable if accelerating quick, and all other gear shifts are fine.

This is my first automatic, but don't think it is normal. Any ideas???

Hi

Check the 3 diff bushes especially the front (nose) bush.

The front one wears the most and works up and down when the rubber wears away.

I was getting the same violent shudder on my X reg Freelander V6 just before Dec 09 - gearbox changed along with soem of the wiring loop - now with the second gearbox, threee months on ...... the same fault is back !

I hope someone else has some clearer idea - as it is more than an frustrating matter !

As stated in the 2008 thread, check the condition of the rear diff bushes, especially the front one.
