Prompted by talking to Greg.....

Went to manchester just there for the weekend.

On the way down, the car was set at 65mph on the dot for cruise control. Likewise on the way home, cruise set at 65mph again.

Southbound returned 23mpg.
Northbound returned 22mpg.

Greg says he's had the same, the northbound journey returns poorer mpg.

Soooooo, does anyone else see thi phenomenon?

Don.

You silly person. Just look at a map. When you are going to the land of the Haggis Munchers from Gods Country, it's UPHILL.
Tsk.
Of course, another reason could be that Scottish gallons are smaller than ours............

Don,

As I said earlier, the Northbound journey is always poorer as you are in a rush to get back to Bonnie Scotland, and out of Englandshire :D :p

the landy will run worse in englandshire due to
the poorer quality in the air.
I am making the journey from the promised land this friday,
i am not looking forward to the southern part of it i must say.
Distinct lack of hilly things where i am headin'
