I've been toying with buying a hi-lift jack for ages but haven't got one yet. What I dont know is whether I can use it on a standard(ish) Disco? Its got a tow bar and bull bar but as far as I know neither have hi-lift jacking points.

Guess I could always weld some on though...

I think you need special hi lift jacking points, normaly a bit of round tube welded somewhere strong.

When we first got me dads disco, we tried jacking it up using a hi ligf jack and the jacking point in the rockslider. When we started jacking, the PO hadn't attatched the rock slider properly so it just bent up and we couldnt open the door:eek::(

Yeah thought as much. I guess the question is then, where best to weld them? Steering guard at the front seems an obvious one, and I guess I can't do anything at the sides until I buy the rock sliders, at the back - towbar mounting?

George

If you buy rock sliders you can get them with jacking points already fitted, extream bumpers also have some fitted Its alot of weight though a small tube I would look at what others have done first

tbh, we hardly ever you our hi-lift anyway, don't even keep it on the disco.
