Hello,
How would bigger tyres 31.10.50x15 affect mpg and ride on a 200TDi Disco?

I have a sneaky feeling that it might increase fuel consumption in stop start driving by needing more power (leverage and all that) when moving off from stops.

I am also thinking that it would help mpg on motorways where, once it gets moving and stabilises, due to a bigger circumference, will give lower mpg?

So theres the theory -can someone please pop some Real World figures for me? (remember to say if you have adjusted for the speedo giving you lower than normal figures pls)

Any idea how these would behave on a coil sprung system? Would they be a bit "woolly" compared to a 235x85x16?

Regards
Udhi
