Has anyone done an air to coil spring conversion? If so are there any problems or disadvantages to the result? My Disco 2 is starting to develop "flop bot" and I am thinking of a conversion which would also free up space for extra LPG tanks! Thoughts welcome and thanks!

Thanks for that thought! I have found out more information but not as yet if the conversion is any good or not! I do not want to do the job and then have the beast handle like a bucket of poo or go all tail end sag when I put my caravan on the back.

Howdy,
I'm about to do mine. Don't want no bags 150miles from a fixit. Coils won't go phisssssst! I'm having a reasonably HD coil put in to counter the 7 seats etc. I could just use coils from a 5 seater yet as they don't seem to 'sag' under load too much.
My 5 cents worth.

If in the UK the 7 seater was only tipe aproved with the SLS system, Its possible to change and you can even ensure it but if you have a crash it is something the insurance might wiggle out of

Just a thought

Thanks to all who have replied. I must admit that I never gave type approval a thought! I must be getting old!! Regarding insurance (and a bit off topic) many years ago I fitted a Perkins 203 into a series 2a. On the next renewal the insurance premium took off because and I quote "it was a modified vehicle". When I complained all they would see was that I had taken a 2.25 litre engine out and put a 3.3litre in and would not be swayed by bhp or torque figures.
Regards to all and thanks again.
