I have a 200tdi and having a little trouble with the headlights.
I can't get the damn things to switch off so therefore have to pull the fuses.
I have taken the indicator arm off and dismantled it but can see nothing wrong with the switch.
While checking under the bonnet I noticed that the plug going into the back of the driver headlight has partially burnt out and is a wee bit black.
The side lights work as normal and the spotlights are wired through the high beam but don't think this would affect anything.

Can anyone help???

If I were you I would track down the apprpriate relay, then strip off it's cover. Whilst someone operates the light switch turning the headlights on and off you can watch the relay and I'll bet it doesn't spring back when the power is turned off.

Assuming that's right you just need a new relay. Simple and cheap.

Nice one. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet but sounds good to me!!!

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers

There was no relay in the 200Tdi headlight circuit.
