hi i have a 1996 disco 300 tdi auto with edc, i hav now owned it a month, what i liked about it when i got was how lively it was, touch the throttle and your off, but the last few days its devolped a delay where there is a pause when pulling away, and power seems to be suffering slightly because of it, as its electronic does anyone have any ideas as to what it may be, because it spoils the experience somewhat especialy when pulling away from traffic lights etc????

I have a '98 Tdi300 auto EDC and I'm trying to think of something on you vehicle which has changed recently to cause this sluggishness.
Is there any smoke? Does it run alright apart from this problem? Has the fuel consumption increased since this problem?
Is your airfilter new? If not, get one or two from these people: www.paddockspares.com (http://www.paddockspares.com).
Just for your info, I recently fitted a Defender non-cat downpipe to the exhaust which has made a significant improvement to the general nippiness of the car and also on a recent 600+ mile trip of mixed driving, she averaged 37.2mpg !!!
I know this might not be a solution to your current problem, but for only £21.50+vat, it really is something worth thinking about.

You can buy them from all over but this is where I got mine from: http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/DEFENDER/Exhausts/Front_Pipe_-_90_300TDI_without_Cat_(1995-1997).html
Good price, good product.
Cheers
Dave
Ps I know this sounds daft, but mine even starts easier now with this new downpipe, so I can only assume that the cat was really stuffed.
