54 TD5 air flow sensor.(MAF)

Took my air flow sensor out this morning for a look like you do & noticed one of the sensor elements is missing.Can anyone give me a clue if it still works or do I have to fork the dosh out for a new one.:(

If a bit is missing it would have brought a code up, the circuit isn't complete.

Hi Chris,thanks for the quick respnse.The real reasen I took it out is because the old girl as a really reduced accelarator response & read on the rave cd that this or MAP sensor could be the cause.I have cleaned the MAP sensor & noticed a slight improvement.Do you think she needs plugging into diagnostics somewhere.

You could do, I checked the codes on a TD5 Disco on friday, no lights on, but came up with 5 codes. EGR valve stuck shut was one, the vacuum pipe was split.

You could check the turbo wastegate and see if it moves, they stick. Check the turbo pipes as well, they split.
