Discovery 2 TD5 auto box overheating?

Hi all just wondering if anybody has had same problem as me with their auto box and the red overheating light in dash coming up when sitting/moving slowly in traffic? I recently had gearbox overhauled (£700) but it doesn't slip or work any differently than before any suggestions/solutions ?????

I had the same problem. Reason was faulty temperature sensor.

Hi m8 where is the temp sensor located is it behind grill ?

Hi,

A temp sensor is on the RH end of transmission oil cooler somewhere behind the grill. I suppose the faulty sensor is the most coommon reason for red light. Price is approx. 40 EUR.
