Went for a run today - brilliant sunny day in the north of scotland ! Ended up limping home on a 3 legged horse ! Its a td5 but felt it was running on 3 cylinders - im suspecting dirty injector(s) . Is it a major job to check/clean?
All help greatly appreciated !!!
Thanks guys

See if it's logged any codes and check the turbo pipes. Might be oil in the loom or a host of other things.

Ok thanks - I know the drill for oil in the loom . For fault codes is a different matter - I presume Id need it plugged into diagnostic computer of some kind ?

Its worth buying the Nanocom for £200 from Bearmach as the dealer will cost you between £60 and £100 for the check up on his kit.
I dont think it will be injectors almost certainly an elec fault or a sensor gone haywire.
Does it idle smooth?
Injectors new are about £400 each:eek:

Ok Ive done the old oil in the loom drill and ive added an injector cleaner to the fuel tank .
No lynall it doesnt idle smooth it sounds like a bag of nails then dies away and cuts out , then doesnt want to start . After i cleaned out the loom it started rough smoothed out to 4 cylinders then seemingly back to 5 ?? But on a test drive wouldnt rev hard then started dropping power ,then back to 4 then 3 cylinders and had to limp home in 3rd gear at 30 mph .
