My '61 2A swb 2.25 petrol ex military has only done 49k miles less than 13k on army recon engine.
Driving steady on quiet lanes she overheated & boiled off her water very fast. towed her home, oil o.k filled rad no leaks.
Started her up drove 400 meters round to my garage this boiled away all water again. Could'nt find a reason so i suspected head gasket, took off head gasket looked fine but water on top of pistons valves looked rust stained.
Cleaned everything re ground valves sprayed all with WD 40 & covered it all up but I have not got a clue what the problem is. Need to watch ££££'s I have got a doner S3 with original milly engine ran sweet but not been started since parked up 7yrs ago it is still complete & clean even the oil is clean also it is not seized. Would it be better to drop that in? I can cope as a fitter but clueless as a mechanic so any advice or tips will help.

Try it with the new head gasket back on. You will never know otherwise.

Most likely it is pressurisation due to gasket failure. As the oil is ok it must have gone into the coolant ways.

Best of luck.
