I have the over-familiar problem of a wet passenger footwell. After doing a recky of the usual causes (AC plugs, leaky S/roof etc etc) I think I've isolated the problem as my washer reservoir (french word), I filled up with screen wash and within two days it was half empty, now it's completely empty and I've only used it a few times. Me thinks the blighter has a crack or pipe connection problem, I've tried to take it out to have a look but after unscrewing everything I can see, it still ain't coming out, I dont want to use my prefered method of brute force and ignorance in case I balls something up. Any advice on faulty washer reservoirs and the removal thereof.??
cheers
Jonny.

I might have a similar problem related to the washer bottle and the rear washer jet. It takes an age of pumping to get water through to the jet nozzle (perhaps a duff non return valve?) and I've noticed screen wash dripping down off the flhs axle radius arm. When I don't use the washer It doesn't seem to leak; this makes me think about the non return valve or something like it.

As far as removing the bottle to check the seals and stuff... part of the bottle is attached to the bulkhead (?) and the underside is conveniently bolted through into the wheel arch, where the nuts have got covered in **** and are now rusted beyond usefulness. This last even got a mention in the 'haynes big book of lies'. So far I've left it alone, but eventually I'll have to 'get on with it'.

J,

It could be that the bottle is perforated or that the rubber seals holding the pumps to the washer bottle are perished. If you have headlight washers you will have 3 pumps. One for the headlights, one for the scree, the other for the rear screen. Fill the bottle up with water and see if you can spot any leaks. If not, get someone to pull try the washers and see if you can spot a leak.
It sounds as if its leaking enough to leave a descent mark.

Good luck,
Jules

I had similiar leak on my last 300 and once you have got the rotten bolts out of the washer bottle, behind it is a large grommet and this was fitted wrong on mine.
