I've just bought some spots to fit to the front of my Disco 1 (1993). I need to connect the relay into the existing main beam circuit. Where is the easiest place to find an appropriate wire in the circuit, how is best to make the join, and how can i identify the right wire?
Cheers

If the spots are over 100w then you need to have them on a seperate switch so that when Mr Plod stops you, you are able to deny that you use them on-road, less than 99w you should be ok. I've taken the live for the relay from the blue/white at the fuse box, I believe this to be the feed to the main beam relay from the stalk. By taking it from inside the car you can then route it through a switch before taking it across to the pasenger side and then out through the bulkhead where the loom goes through. This in turn places the wire rather conveniently at the bank of relays where you will find a spare location for yours.

Ok i'll have a look at that tomorrow in the daylight and see if i can work it out. My disco seems to have had its electrics messed around with (i took loads of panels etc off today and found lots of loose wires and unwinding electrical tape and the radio wiring was so bad i just pulled the fuse until i can get round to replacing it all. So chances of the wires looking as they should might be a bit low!!
