What is the point? Where can you take it in this country?

I've got an off road trailer based on Land Rover axles, surprising where it comes in useful. I saw an Australian site with and off road caravan, looked quite interesting.

Same place you'd take your Land Rover, no point in having one if you don't use it as intended sometimes.

Landy's can go out to play for short distances, but in Scotland there are not very many longer distances to go where you would need an offroad trailer. Of course, if you wanted to go on an "Expedition " abroad, that would be a different matter.

It doesn't have to be a long distance, just the ability to get off the road and go where an ordinary car and trailer can't go is sufficient justification.

Dont think you can beat a sankey trailer as it follows ever rut you leave behind you easily and loads of space. Plus you can add a high rack for more storage!!!

Off road trailers for camping are not really that , they are dirt road trailers, because if you try to go where a landrover can just get, they become a total liability. Even on dirt roads in the wet you have to be careful how you use them . On sand they act like you are dragging an anchor . In extreme conditions they take a hell of a beating and require a lot of maintenance.
If you dont have a big enough vehicle to cart all the kit you need then getting a bigger vehicle is a lot better option. IN the UK a small caravan is a better bet something like an Eriba , or jurgens. you can always mod the supension on the caravan if you need a bit more ground clearance . JMHO HTSH :)
