I am new to landrover and recently bought a 2000 1.8i freelander I have covered approx 4000 miles trouble free untill this evening when a noise from the gearbox started. It sounds like the noise made when reverse is not fully engaged. the sound happens in all 5 gears when accelerating but stops when the clutch is engaged and the vehicle is freewheeling. is there a common fault with freelander gearboxes such as those with the cylinder head, rear diffs etc. any help and advice would greatfully received and I will try to answer any questions...
