Hello from Greece ! /Kalimera sas
Sorry for bad English !
Looking ebay i find many parts to update my disco2
But there is some inquaries .
1.My pro-facelift disco is LHD , td5 ,auto ,5seats ,march 2002
Why for facelift parts must to distinguish for headlamps and trims that it is LHD ?. What is the differencies ,about headlamps ,between L-R-HD ?
2. My interior Mirror is simple ,no compass ,no nothing ! If I buy a used mirror with compass and homelink ,and ... IT WILL WORK TO MINE DISCO ? What can I do to find it ? If I go to dealer with parts in hand him ,I supose , will get me out ! They want to earn much maney from parts.... If I buy parts maybe it will cost 1000 euros!
3. Reading I find that some facelift headlamps have AUTOLEVELING ,selfleveling ,support . It means that beam will autocontroling ? Or I from panel will do it manual ? Perhaps with a motor , like mirrors , will adjust it ? Can my pro-facelift age to "take" it ?
4.Mine have audio system C42 (+ cd changer) . No VIDEO ,NO mp3 ! =Nothing ! If I buy a No-LR DVD-USB-MP3-CD PLAYER will work ? I mean can use remote (in steering whell ) utilities ? If I buy (there is ?) OEM DVD PLAYER ?

Sorry and many millions thanks

1: the difference between LHD and RHD lights are the shape and direction of the mirror, therefore the beam. Each is designed to point towards the kerb / ditch so as to not blind oncoming traffic.

If you drive in the UK with a LHD your lights will shine into oncoming traffic (same applied if a RHD in Europe) hence the reason Brits stick those things on their lights to diffuse the light.

Levelling lights. This is to do with when you tow a heavy load...your lights automatically adjust to the weight in the rear and means that instead of manually adjusting your light beam, it does it for you so, when loaded up, you are not lighting the sky.

As for the stereo and interior mirror - no idea

Sorry

my discovery (it's a 98 so is that a 1 or a 2 lol) has a control in the cabin to adjust the up and down of the headlights.. this is so if you have a heavy load or are towing you can lower the lights to save them pointing up at people coming towards you.. they are a legal requirement in the UK after a certain date but were fitted to high end models for years..

Mjltigger,

Mine does too but the newer Discos have air suspension which has a self levelling headlamp system to compensate for loads...and it appears as well as the manual override inside the cab on the dash.

I sure someone with a D2 will come along and confirm.

I have an early disco 2

if you have SLS (air) on the back the self leveler is redundant but still fitted

dpetro, Look and see if your discovery has air suspension ( if you look under the rear at the "springs", you will not see "springs" but inflatable rubber bags, like that on trucks). If it has air suspension it will be self-levelling. There will also be an adjuster inside the cab, next to your electric mirror adjustment. I believe that this is an EEC requirement and is fitted in all modern cars by law. The adjuster in the cab works with a small electric motor, but you should not need to use it if you have air suspension. In this country 5 seat Discoverys have coil springs and 7 seat discoverys have air suspension . I think that it will be the same in Greece.

No , havent ,air-spring. Just springs !

I want to ask you more (i think you are expert!)

My car ,propably , is S no SE ,no HSE. I can change=replace

a. door mirrors with powerfold ?

dpetro, I am not an expert although there are some on this forum who are! I just have a Discovery II!

Headlights : they do not move much and I don't think that you will see it just 1 metre away from a wall. Try it on a long straight road at night!

Powerfold mirrors: I think that the wiring will be there inside the door but I do not know for sure. You will have to look inside the door to check. Then you could perhaps get the parts from a Scrapyard?

Rear view mirror and all the rest, I have no idea but someone else may know. I hope this is helpful, Grant
