I've just got back from holiday and found that my carpets are wet under my mats and at the carpet edge nearest the doors.

I was using my AC a lot on the coldest temp and had it on the setting for the low vents ,which I don't normally use. On holiday I noticed some water comming out of the low air outlet in the drivers footwell.

On inspecting the car tonight the carpets are wet front and back, and also noticed that there is 2 low level vents in the back above the mats on each side of the tunnel.

The car smells pretty damp

Is it normal for water to leak out of the low vents when using them with AC?

Cheers

Only can help halfway here. No the Air con shouldn't make the carpets wet. Sounds like the drain pipe for it have blocked so sending the water out the vents.
The only thing i don't know is the location of said drains.

Look under the car, either side of the gearbox are 2 little rubber drains, like the one in the front left wheel arch just smaller. They are quite high up and hard to see and reach. These are the AC drains, when the AC is on on a hot day you should get 2 little wet patches on the ground under the car. If you dont, then locate these drains and give them a poke and squeeze.

I had the same problem with mine,as "diggerdog" says it was the drains that were blocked, follow his sugestion as I did and it should no longer wet the carpets.
Good luck Marc.;)

Thanks guys,

That's exactly what was wrong. I squeezed the rubber drains and water gushed out. I'll keep an eye for the tell tale puddles on the ground in future.
