Alarm Problems

I am getting very fed up of the problems with my discovery now!

Right this time, i get out the car, i lock it with the key fob, the buttons go down, then lights flash to indicate its locked and alarmed, the alarm goes off and the buttons come back up. So now i can't lock my car, as it just unlocks and the alarm goes. Any ideas what it could be. I've had no problems with the alarm until now.

check your pin switches on all doors and bonnet.

some alarms will unlock or sound a warning if it senses a door is not closed properly.
that might be what its doing.

i know m disco will unlock and lock all doors as a warning that a door or bonnet is not closed.

Ye i've checked them and there all shut.

check the pins them selfs, they can rust and lose connection to the body.................then again, if they did not work your interior light would not go off.
unless they work off a different system.

thats my idea any way :)

what happens when you lock the car with the key?

I am having the same trouble trying to fit remote start\remote central locking alarm to my 1996 300 tdi. remote start was the easy bit and works great, connect all wires as per not very clear instructions and it will either lock then not unlock with remote or wire different then it locks then unlocks simultaneously.....I have 6 wires 2 white 2 orange & 2 yellow, 3 of which have a black stripe on each....PLEASE HELP ITS DRIVING ME INSANE!
