I am having a problem with the offside rear brake light, on my 'j' reg disco 200tdi.
I have removed the side seat and with difficulty just removed the stop tail light holder.
I have replaced the bulb with a new one ,but this time I find that the brake light works and the tail not.
I tried a different bulb again and this time we were back to square one, with the offside brake not working.
Now I realise tht the bulb holder only accepts the bulb a certain way so it was put in correctly.
I am using the same typ of bulb as the one which was original.I have a few of them from the days of my Transit,as the dual filliment bulbs seem the same.
I noticed though that the bulb I removed never had the small solder ' blob' near to the glass bulb as my spare bulbs do, I assume that this 'blob' denotes an earth.
When fitted the solder ' blob' doesnt touch any contact.as there is not a contact place.
My question now is, could the dual stop tails that I possess, be different to the one I removed.
They all seem to have the contacts in the same position.
