My Discovery 3 is now 3 years old and therefore there's no need for me to have it serviced at main dealer as before.

I live not far from Sheffield, and I work down in Berkshire, so I'd be interested to hear of recommendations from anyone who has capability to reliably service the new model Discovery 3 , hopefully at less cost than the main dealer will charge.

There are specialists all over the country that will do a service to dealer standards but make sure they can reset ur service indicator because if not u will still have to pay a dealer to reset it. Lawson:D

Hi Derby Tup. Out of interest, what do LR main dealers charge for the various servicing of a D3

I've heard many good things about these people:

But, £140 to do this...

Every 5,000 miles or 6 months
Change oil and oil filter (special oils at extra charge)
Top up bonnet fluid levels
Check brakes
Check steering
Check suspension
Check tyres
Check pollen filter
Wash and vac
Collection and delivery

Try this link for a search of candidate garages all should have full Land Rover diagnostics and stuff and some may even infact be run as independent franchises by dealers who understand that after 3 years you aint going to pay Land Rover prices !! ( I use one when I need to that are exactly that ).

A quick check revealed a fair few in your area so visit them all ask them your questions and choose the one that come across best and you can trust with your pride and joy.
