Nanocom tells me that my right front sensor is faulty.Fixes I have seen on the forums range from gentle cleaning, to hit it firmly with a hammer!! Local LR man says change the whole hub assembly £200 !!
I would appreciate the advice of you more experienced owners. Only had it a few months, but I am capable of doing my own repairs as long as I know what exactly.

find someone breaking one and replace it yourself.

£200 sounds cheap for the hub..I had a wheel bearing run a couple of years ago and I had to buy the hub which came with sensor etc and I think from memory it was closer to £300.
Word of warning..if you find one at a breakers check the wear if possible on the wheel bearing as if its shot you are back to square one.

This is why I am asking no point in buying another duff one.NO posetive answer seems to be available, if a new hub is the only cure then fine I will do the job, but considering all the talk about the deraded three amigos ther seems to be no real answers.

What made you get the thing checked out..was the ABS definately not operating or was it just the lights on...find a bit of gravel and stand on the brake and you will feel through the pedal if its `pulsing`..if it is then the sensors are ok.
I have an intermittent fault which lights the abs/tc/diff lock lights together..not uncommon on older Discos but they are all fine..sensor problem somewhere and as they are all connected..t/c uses the abs to opersate etc then anything even crap on the diff lock switch can give you false indications.
All I`m saying is be sure the actual sensor is the problem.
Never asked..trust its a TD5.

Those sensors are always playing up. Had the same one go "apparently" faulty on our 110, ended up just needing a clean and a play with the connectors. Not had a problem since!

Hi there if it is a sensor fault on a disco td5 u can get the sensors seperatly but you will probably find that the fault will still be present if you just fit a sensor. I have had this problem before one sensors i have fitted. Lawson
The light has been on for weeks, but got stuck in my field in just 4" of mud a few days ago, definatly no traction control. Have had a look at it there is nothing to clean its located inside the hub above the sensor ring so no dirt can get near. have reset the fault comes back on when you get up to speed. Will play around a bit more if I get a dry day( i bloody wish ) If no joy will change the whole unit then I can put the old one on the bench and get to grips with it. Still cant see how its a non repairable unit, LR put the bearings in there.

Had this many a time first of try reseting the fault and see if it comes back, if it does its worth removing the senser and reseating it, I bent the fixing a bit to make sure the sensor was all the way in, there are also posts on here about removing the o ring but I did not need to try that. In the past I had another Hub replaced make sure you pay the extra 20p for the seal that is not in the box!!
At least with the Nanocom you can save yourself the cost of putting it onto Test book.

Stripped it down again today and found by looking into the hub that there is a broken tooth on the actuater ring, so a new hub will have to be fitted. Put it all back just in case no joy alarm goes and lights back on.
The teeth are cut out of the hub shaft itself and runs completly protected inside the hub so there is no way this damage could be done after assembly, it must have been broken and nearly off before it was fited.
Also the hub halves are held together by four bolt so can not see why this is labeld as non repairable. Read somewhere that someboby had to buy a new hub because he damaged a wheel stud. Will strip it down and report back when I change the hub. Nanocom has paid for itself already in a week. Thank you all for the advice.
