Does anyone know the part numbers for the following?

1. Drivers (RH) side plastic headlight protector.

2. Stereo as fitted in 1996, which includes ability to use CD changer (underseat).

3. LED clock for 1996 model.

Any of the above would be really helpful.

Thanks,

Chris.

A Build number would help as there are a few options for the radio.
I assume it's a 300 Series Disco.
Clock is likely STC1800 but best to re-check against Build number.

Thanks for the reply. It is a 300 Series Disco. More than happy to find the build number, but not sure how I'd do that. Can anyone help.

I'll look up the part number for the clock and confirm it's the correct model.

Many thanks,

Chris.

As per your other thread the OE LR radio unit will be a pit of money, by comparison to starting again with a new and better/more modern higher spec aftermarket unit.

Your choice of course..............

1. STC89322 LAMP GUARDS- PERSPEX pair

2. AMR5696LNF RADIO CASSETTE ASSEMBLY PHILIPS

3. DBP8537L CLOCK DIGITAL-LCD

No.1 only come in pairs
No.2 is compatable AMR3154 CD AUTO CHANGER PHILIPS and DASH CONTROLS and SUB

Also perhaps the bulb has blown on the display, it is no a LR replacement part, suggesting that it's soldered to, or is an integral part of the display. If 'you' can take the display apart then the lamp or LED can be replaced.
Or drop the head into a car radio repairers for repair.

The build no. is the VIN

Discool,

Thanks for the info, I'm impressed at your part no. knowledge!

I can't find anywhere on the 'net that sells the guards; is that def. a good part number?

VIN SALLJGM73TA521474

You mentioned getting the head unit repaired, I didn't even think about this as a possibility. Do you know how to find such a place?
Many thanks,

Chris.

Sorry,, STC8932AA LAMP GUARDS-PERSPEX

A lot of in-car hi-fi shops do repairs, but keep away from the Halfords type of shop they are just retail and there to seli u a new bit of kit, have a look in yellow pages.
U may be unable to get spare's for that model of head unit now.
I have a LR parts catalogue for the disco.

Just for your info, the clock has a replacable bulb, cheap to buy off Ebay.

Cheers, guys. Replaceable bulbs? This could solve the stereo and clock problem. Any idea of the part no./ spec. ?

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi Chris, don't have a part number, but follow the link to buy one:

Dave,

Thanks for the link. I think this could be the back light for the instrument panel though, not the LCD display on the clock.

Cheers,

Chris.

The link Dave posted gives the correct LR part no. for the time clock bulb further down the page and below the DLS logo.

Hi Chris, this is the correct bulb - I know because I bought one from this source and fitted it myself.

The only reason I asked, is this looks like a normal instrument bulb, and the clock is an LCD display. I would have thought the whole display would have to be replaced.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi Chris, if you take out the clock, remove it's bulb & hold it up to the light, you should be able to still see it working. Usually it's the illumination (the bulb) that goes, not the clock itself.

I'll see if I can work out how to get the clock out, then I'll hopefully be able to see what the problem is. I have a funny feeling that not all segments of the displayed number light up.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi Chris, if I may, the easiest way to get the clock out without drama or damage it to use 2 credit/store cards.

What you do is to insert one at the top, one at the bottom and push them in until you feel them make contact with the plastic locating lugs, then push a bit further to spring them open and withdraw the clock.

Took longer to write, than to do !!:D:rolleyes:
